Join us in the miniature earth Geoscope dome that Bucky built on the SIUE campus for a screening of “The World of Buckminster Fuller”
On Friday, June 28th, at 7:00 PM, the Fuller Dome will screen “The World of Buckminster Fuller” a film by Academy Award winner Robert Snyder. Documentary film maker Robert Snyder married Bucky’s daughter Allegra Fuller Snyder and their son, Bucky’s grandson, Jaime Snyder will zoom into the Fuller Dome at SIUE for this screening of his father's film to introduce the movie and share his personal impressions on this film that is so integral to his family’s legacy.
Marshall MacLuhan called Buckminster Fuller, “The Leonardo da Vinci of our time.” Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was an architect, engineer, geometrician, philosopher, futurist, inventor of the famous geodesic dome, and one of the most brilliant thinkers of his time. His legacy becomes ever more relevant, providing us a road map to steer our planet away from oblivion – and toward a sustainable future for all of humanity.
This film by Oscar-winning filmmaker Robert Snyder, like his other documentaries on “the greats” (Michelangelo, Henry Miller, Willem De Kooning, Pablo Casals, among others), transports the viewer into Fuller’s mind and soul. Told entirely in his own words, the film is an intimate, personal and inspiring message from Fuller to our fragile world.
